the fog rolls in

When I left the house this morning it was clear, and I kept being distracted by the full moon setting to the west in a sky that was just turning pink  from the sunrise.  I turned to the east (like every morning) and after a mile or so was enveloped in fog.  Heading to the bridge the fog thickened and thinned but never went away.  There is something about driving on a bridge in the fog that makes me wonder where the road is going to take me, it feels unmoored from reality somehow.  The entire drive across the bay felt like it was wrapped in cotton wool.  A little while after reaching the opposite shore, I drove back out of the fog and into a clear morning.

The Bay Area is known for microclimates, but I've never seen a fog so particularly attached to the Bay before, it was nifty.
