weekend
can't lose FNL

That was intense.  I watched most of the Packer game pacing behind the couch, and did wait until noon to crack my beer.  Luckily the game starts at noon next week; Seattle here we come!

I've seen this meme around my flist and decided to play along, hopefully to jumpstart myself into posting.

Ten Day Challenge
Day 1 - Ten random facts about yourself
Day 2 - Nine things you do everyday
Day 3 - Eight things that annoy you
Day 4 - Seven fears/phobias
Day 5 - Six songs that you’re addicted to
Day 6 - Five things you can’t live without
Day 7 - Four memories you won’t forget
Day 8 - Three words you can’t go a day without
Day 9 - Two things you wish you could do
Day 10 - One person you can trust

Day 1 - Ten random facts about yourself
1. I broke my right arm when I was ten falling off a playground slide.
2. I have my seven year 4-H pin, and won a blue ribbon at the WI state fair.
3. I light designed two shows in college.
4. I put on makeup (usually just concealer, mascara, maybe eyeliner) when I arrive at the office, to save myself a few extra minutes in the morning.
5. I have seen every movie nominated for the best picture Oscar since 1977.
6. Grandma R taught me to crochet when I was seven, and to knit a few years later.
7. I can spell schadenfreude only because of Avenue Q.
8. I first moved to CA following my at the time boyfriend who was a grad student at Stanford.  That relationship didn't last, but the other connections I made brought me back.
9. I still keep a paper monthly calendar that goes with me most places for scheduling and to do lists.  Mmmm, lists.
10. I worked third shift in a pickle factory.

Last weekend we were cleaning the bedroom and I actually looked in one of the bins that has been tucked in a corner forever.  In it was a knitting project that I'm guessing I started at least 13 years ago, maybe longer.  Forever ago I was going to knit an afghan for my brother and his wife as a wedding present, but it was on size 6 needles and I realized it would take forever.  I ended up crocheting them an afghan (for their first anniversary - heh) but was going to make a pillow with the double tree knit pattern that had attracted me to trying to knit an afghan in the first place.  At some point I had knit the tree, and the edging and had one backing piece done and the other nearly done, and then I stopped.  So this week I finished the 2nd back piece with it's buttonhole, put all the pieces together, attached the edging, and went to the new Michaels by my apartment to get a pillow form.
