Okay so smartertm beat me to this but this still needs to be spread far and wide.
Hooray! The 2006 Bulwer-Lytton Contest results are out!

One of my favorites is the subject of this entry.  Here's another one - the runner up winner in the romance category:

"Sex with Rachel after she turned fifty was like driving the last-place team on the last day of the Iditarod Dog Sled Race, the point no longer the ride but the finish, the difficulty not the speed but keeping all the parts moving in the right direction, not to mention all that irritating barking."

Go and read.  It will make you smile.

Also, I have agreed to work at Klutz for a few days to help them get caught up.  So much for my wonderful four days off between shows.  I can't quite decide if this makes me a good person or a complete chump.  But at least it will be some extra money so hopefully next month's credit card bill doesn't put me back into debt.

And, I went to the comic book store today.  Yay me!

This one has always been my favorite:
The camel died quite suddenly on the second day, and Selena fretted sulkily and, buffing her already impeccable nails--not for the first time since the journey began--pondered snidely if this would dissolve into a vignette of minor inconveniences like all the other holidays spent with Basil.

It's perfect, don't you agree?

Glad you enjoyed my entry

Just noticed that you had listed my Bulwer entry as your favorite, and thought I'd comment. I'm glad you enjoyed it. If you are interested, my local newspaper ran an article on the contest and listed some more of my entries that weren't selected:
